The relationship between culture and nature is the focus of this year’s Weltempfang, the fair’s centre for politics, literature and translation in Hall 4.1. At various events, intellectuals, politicians and authors, including Elif Shafak, Maja Lunde and Jean-Baptiste Del Amo, will discuss issues around (cultural) activism and change in the light of impending ecological crises.

It's all about audio!
 
The Frankfurt Audio Summit on 17 October, 2 pm - 5 pm, will address the biggest trends and challenges in audio markets worldwide. Speakers include Michael Krause from Spotify, Michele Cobb from the Audio Publishers Association and Bradley Metrock from Score Publishing.

LiBeraturpreis 2019
 
The novel El Miserere de los Cocodrilos by Uruguayan writer, journalist and lawyer Mercedes Rosende wins the LiBeraturpreis 2019, an annual award for a particularly popular book by a female writer from Africa, Asia, Latin America or the Arab world. Join the award ceremony at Villa 102 on 17 October in Frankfurt.
