As this exciting THE ARTS+ 2018 year draws to a close, we're cozyingly working on some great ideas for 2019!

All that change: Creative AI, Manifesto, Holograms

Dear friends of THE ARTS+,

This year's festival was absolutely amazing: 5 days, 71 speakers, 60 events, 50 partners, 67 exhibitors, 3000 conference and workshop visitors, 125,000 trade visitors, 1 virtual pop star, 1 cyborg, 1 drum dress. Sounds like great fun – but THE ARTS+ also worked hard: partners from all over Europe defined innovation barriers for creative institutions and finalized a Manifesto that will now be used in 2019 to improve funding and visibility for the cultural sector. And we started a study on AI in publishing. Find all this - and more - below.

Many thanks to all our visitors, partners, speakers and exhibitors, we can't wait to continue in 2019!

Warm regards
Holger Volland

The cyborg and the hologram star

THE ARTS+ was a crowd-puller this year: At the panels and performances the audience was crowded, the virtual pop star Maya Kodes amazed big and small visitors and at the end of the fair a happy THE ARTS+ team collapsed exhausted on the Runway. Take a look at our video and our collection of photos.

Online survey for publishers: A.I. in publishing

Artificial intelligence has made its way into publishing – but to what extent? That is what the Frankfurter Buchmesse and the technology-fuelled management consultancy firm Gould Finch want to find out with a joint online survey, the results of which, along with possible solutions, are to be published in a white paper. All participants will be given exclusive first access to the results of the study and to the white paper to be published, in German and English, in 2019.
