Tips from the Frankfurter Buchmesse team
So many publishers come to the book fair and never get to explore beyond the hall where they exhibit. Try to take at least an hour a day for a book fair safari, and experience other parts of the fair.
My advice would be to always wear sensible shoes and plan some time in your calendar for something to eat – if you are hurrying from meeting to meeting, it can be easy to forget lunch.
About 80% of a visit to
Frankfurter Buchmesse should be planned, with a clear idea of where you’re going and when you need to be there. But set aside 20% of your time to see what else is out there.
Book fair parties are great
places to meet new people.
Even if you just know one
person there, go along and
they will introduce you to
ten more. Talk to them and extend your network.
Add personal highlights to your business trip: Fly in early to visit the reconstructed historic city centre of Frankfurt and join us on the Sunday before the fair for the Kickoff Run.
The Frankfurt restaurants get very busy during book fair week, so make sure you get organised and put some reservations in your diary to enjoy the evening with friends and colleagues.

Discover "Georgia – Made by Characters" on the fairgrounds
and in the city
| The heart of the Georgian Guest of Honour appearance is the Guest of Honour Pavilion. There you can experience the "characters" of the Georgian alphabet spatially and get to know the special characters of the Georgian authors at exciting events.
Georgia can also be found in THE ARTS+, in the new Frankfurt Pavilion, the Gourmet Gallery, on the Education Stage and in many other places.
Furthermore, Georgia will be present in the city with exhibitions, performances, music, films, readings and culinary delights. And on the Saturday of the fair, a big Georgian party will take place in Atelierfrankfurt: Bassiani@Frankfurt with DJs from one of the most popular clubs in Tbilisi!

Towards a barrier-free fair: Be part of the project “Frankfurter Buchmesse for All”
No steps or kerbs, but tactile models and large writing instead – in the “test lab” for inclusive design of the research project “Frankfurter Buchmesse for All” (Hall 3.0 K 83), book fair visitors can learn about concepts for reducing barriers at the book fair, try out an almost barrier-free stand design and provide feedback. The stand is also connected to a barrier-free café.
The aim of the research project “Frankfurter Buchmesse for All” by Frankfurter Buchmesse and Technische Universität Darmstadt is to improve the accessibility of the book fair for all visitors.

At the Agora, the open space in the centre of the exhibition grounds, Frankfurter Buchmesse turns into a festival. In the new Frankfurt Pavilion and the YOGI TEA® Lesezelt (Reading Marquee), visitors can experience reading events by famous authors and other performances. The new Food Court offers refreshments and culinary highlights. There will also be an art and creative quarter, exhibitors such as Amnesty International, Stadt Lesen and Deutscher Cartoonpreis as well as many authors' signing sessions in the new Signing Boxes. When the weather is fine, the Agora also invites visitors to linger and relax.
