Dear Sir or Madam,

the participants of THE ARTS+ last year included digital enthusiasts, freelancers from the creative industries, sponsors and intermediaries, content rights holders and representatives from cultural institutions – they all found inspiration and innovation in working with artistic content.

The Van Gogh Museum (Amsterdam), for example, presented its art app to a broad audience. The TASCHEN Verlag introduced David Hockney’s “A Bigger Book”. Various service providers showed what’s possible with 3D printers today, or how virtual reality can be used.

This year, once again, during the Frankfurter Buchmesse (11-15 October 2017), a showroom and lab will take shape in Hall 4.1 that demonstrate interdisciplinary synergies for the smart use of creative content.

This makes THE ARTS+ a meeting place for pioneers, sponsors, inventors and freethinkers. And, while the range of professions they represent may be wide, they all share the same attitude: Let’s reveal the full potential of creative content!

BE BOLD!

FORWARD-THINKING INNOVATIONS

This year, THE ARTS+ (11-15 October 2017) once again brings together representatives of the creative and culture industry, institutions and start-ups to showcase new business sectors working with creative content. Participants in THE ARTS+ have the opportunity to dive into discussions with each other and strike out on new paths together – whether in developing an app, or by installing a virtual space or financing digital ideas. This is how ideas become concepts and ultimately valuable services or products. »

THE BOOK FAIR’S INNOVATION CENTRES

With THE ARTS+, Frankfurter Buchmesse launched a fair and networking hub for the “Cultural Industry 4.0” last year, offering the first marketplace for all cultural intellectual property. In a workshop as part of THE ARTS+ programme, Rob Ambrose, Head of Strategy and Business development for FADEL discussed how new technology is fundamentally changing the way creative industries manage content and reach audiences. The ideas and concepts debated by a group of creatives form the basis of a white paper that is now available for free download. Rob Ambrose talked to us about challenges, growth potential and how IP-Holders can future proof their businesses. »
